So what have I been up to today? 
While Benjamin has been in his wee bed all day - I have been making remedies and orders. I had a birthday (Jeanne - not Ben - his is in August) and as I feel I have enough birthdays now - I am auctioning my birthday off on Trade Me and the money will got to BARK NZ. Benjamin (my cat) and I have started a page on Facebook called 'Benjamin's Blog'  The page will cover a bit o our journey with his kidney disease , and what we learn along the way. it is not a depressing page at all - but an informative one. It isn't all about CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease) but about  the bond that we share with our animals as well.
It is a page for support, learning and sharing.
It is a page that I hope that everyone will get some benefit from - animals and humans.

Absolutely gutted. Diagnosis for my 17 1/2 year Cornish Rex buddy, Benjamin, has confirmed stage 3 kidney disease!!! Didn't see that coming - although was aware of some kidney issue but geez!!!!

Now I have nothing against Vets -have met many a kind Vet in my day - not so many open minded ones though that will think outside the square like I do (hate circles -too predictable!) - but the ones I have I like.
However I do not like the idea of putting a natural meat/fish eating cat onto dry kidney food to help his condition.
Doesn't sit well with me at all!!!

So am researching as much as I can - his diet seems fine from what I am reading.
Looking for a Holistic Vet to help out.

If anyone has any words of wisdom then please let me know. This boy has had a hard life, both physically and mentally (rescue cat) and has outlived his life expectancy as well - he deserves some quality time for what time he does have left.

HELP NEEDED with information.

A friend is writing a book about horses in NZ - and is wishing to find information regarding the early horses of NZ. Info about their care, their arrival into NZ, their breeding and origins, their history here and what they were used for.
Where did they first land in NZ? How did they survive?

Spotted this beautiful chimney the other day. Standing all alone in the paddock in the

country - house had long burnt down - but this just seemed to call my attention.

Chimney Matua I call it as we had just visited Matua Valley Vineyard in the beautiful Matua valley in Waimauku Auckland west.
We drove past it and went and had some lunch. But couldn't get it out of my head so had to drive back and take a picture. And here it is! lol!

Homes are urgently needed for a number of cats. This is a genuine case of legally needing to rehome these well care for cats - ages may vary between 1-2 years of age.

The people who have these cats have exhausted all possibilities to keep them, so they need to all go to caring loving homes.
